Shenmue II Possible Outcomeby Paul Forest © 2001Chapter One: Into China Chapter Two: Aberdeen Chapter Three: The Darkside of Aberdeen Chapter Four: The Heavens Open Chapter Two: AberdeenWhen the boat finally docked in Aberdeen, Ryo said goodbye to everyone on the boat, then descended the steps. And stared out at the Aberdeen SkyLine. "Zhu Yun Da now where could I find him?" Ryo walked over the loading dock and into the town. He had no idea where to go. Then finally he saw it in front of him. It could have been his Nirvana, a map. Ryo walked over to the machine. "Hmmm.Aberdeen map 10 Hong Kong Dollars. Yeah ok I guess I need one" He put in 10 Hong Kong Dollars, and took the map from the holder. Ryo quickly opened it up. According to the map the building that the map was leaning against was a local Inn. Ryo folded up the map and headed towards the Inn. After walking inside the Inn, Ryo was reminded of the Heartbeats bar in Yokosuka. The smells were there, the faint sea salt smell, the stench of smoke and an atmosphere, which didn't seem friendly to people of Ryo's age group. Ryo walked past scowling faces and cigarette duds on the floor and walked on towards the bar to talk to the bartender. "Hey bartender." Ryo called. Everywhere seemed to go quiet as the sailors noticed fresh blood for them to stuff cigarettes down his throat. The bartender walked slowly over to Ryo. "Yeah What 'ha want?" The ignorant tone in his voice told Ryo that he wasn't wanted here and that the man wasn't going to co-operate with Ryo. "I'm wondering if you know a man called Zhu Yun Da." "Zhu Yun Da who's that some Chinese god or something." Ryo grabbed the man's collar. "YOU BETTER TELL ME EVERYTHING OR ELSE!" Everyone stood up and walked slowly over to Ryo. "It's ok guys" the barman told everyone. "He's just looking for some information." "Yeah I am" said Ryo. Ryo let go of his collar and everyone sat back down. "So this Zhu Yun Da do you know what he does, is he a martial artist or something." "I don't know, but I think he might be." "Well the only advice I can give you is try the Bar Swing further along the front. You see that guy is pretty knowledgeable about most people around here." "Ok, sure, thanks" "Just the next time you come, try not to cause trouble." "Yeah ok." Ryo walked towards the door of the bar when he looked to his right and saw a man getting ready to throw a bottle. When the man threw it Ryo quickly ducked out of the way. "Drunks" Ryo said under his breath, and he continued on through the door and back out to the fresh air of Aberdeen. "So lets see Bar Swing." As Ryo was just walking around the corner to a row of buildings, which were warehouses, Someone sped by on their motorbike and skidded directly in front of Ryo. It was a girl maybe a year or two older than Ryo. She seemed out of breath. "Am I ok here." She was beautiful, Long Red hair with a tint of blonde and there just seemed to be something about her that Ryo could shake off. "Well yeah I guess it's fine here, what are you getting away from." "I can't explain I just have to get away from here, any ideas." "Well I don't know the place well, but you could try." "No time to try, oh by the way I didn't catch you're name" "I'm Ryo Ha." She cut in not giving Ryo time to finish saying his name. "I'm Joy, bye Ryo maybe see you around sometime." "Yeah, Yeah ok." Just as he finished she sped away weaving through Market stalls and further until she was out of sight. "I wonder what she was getting away" from Ryo thought. He pulled out his map to look for Bar Swing. "Ok I follow this path down to a park and it should be on the left side a few buildings down from a café". The market was quite busy. Many men and women selling items such as candles, Chinese ornaments and many other items that Ryo didn't recognise. He continued on through the market until he got to a place called Pigeon Park. It had a massive beautiful fountain. Lots of people were sitting on and around the fountain, basking in the great weather. Ryo continued walking on towards Bar Swing. When Ryo got inside Bar Swing he noticed that this was considerably different from the other bar. For a start it was clean, had no smoky smell and it had 2 dartboards. The man noticed Ryo as soon as he entered. "Hey man COM's over here." As soon as Ryo saw him he thought of Tom, one of his best friends. He seemed to have the same style and almost the same accent. Ryo walked over and said "Do you know someone called Zhu Yun Da?" "I have definitely heard of the name. Yeah man I do, I know him he's an old man." "Where is he, I need to know" "Woah, calm down, ok I'll tell you all I know about him. Zhu Yun Da was a well-known martial artist in this town. He lived around here and he owned a training school somewhere, but he had to move away. He was livin' in a one bedroom apartment and had to move because he had to look after his granddaughter." "Oh so he's not here" "Let me finish man, his son and his daughter in law were killed in some place in Kowloon, they were beat up pretty bad from what I hear. His granddaughter was Kun something or other and he bought a house nearer the training school. I don't know where the training school is sorry I can't help you but that's all I know." "Ok well thanks anyway." "Yo man, I didn't catch yo' name. Mines Chris." "Well thanks Chris, I'm Ryo." "Ryo, a Japanese name. I had a brother from Japan, but I had to move away from there because I was in trouble with a gang." "Yeah, ok I got to go now, see you later Chris." "Yeah later man." Ryo was depressed his hopes of finding Zhu Yun Da soon, were dashed. What would he do now? Chapter Three: The Darkside of AberdeenBack to Fan Creations page. |
