The story begins when Iwao and Lan Di are both young. Lan Di, then known as Chang Long, is still in grade school, but Iwao is now a teenager. They are both in Hong Kong.

Chang Long: Iwao, I will beat you some day!!!

Iwao: Yes, someday you might child, but not now!

Both of the boys are in a Dojo at Chang Longs house. Chang throws a punch at Iwao. Iwao does a quick dodge, and trips little Chang from his front legs. The boy falls to the ground, then Iwao throws a punch down at his face, stopping a fraction of an inch before hitting him.

Iwao: As I said, you still have much more training to do.

Chang: That is true, but I will still defeat you!!!

Chang trips Iwao from the back feet. Iwao falls to the ground, then Chang lands a light kick to his stomach.

Iwao: Wow, you must have been practicing alot, huh?

Chang: Yes, I have.

Iwao does a Shadow Step behind little Chang and pushes him into the wall playfully.

Iwao: But not enough, I see. I'm done for the day Chang, I must go home.

Little did Chang and Iwao know, Zhao Sun Ming was watching the fight. Zhao was Lan Di's father.

Zhao: Chang!!! Why did you not defeat him! I taught you better than that! You should have! Come inside now!

Chang feels embarassed and walks slowly behind his father with shame.

Chang (thinking): Next time I will beat you Iwao, and make my father proud!

The next day Iwao came over to have his daily practice with Chang. Chang was already in the dojo, with a sword drawn. Zhao stood at the head of the dojo and let the 2 sword fight. Iwao easily over did him, but by pure accident, he put a deep cut under Changs eye.

Iwao: Oh no! Are you okay Chang!?

Zhao: Iwao! How dare you beat a child in such a way!!

Zhao ran at Iwao as Chang fell to the ground. Iwao dropped his sword. The sword had a square handguard, so it was able to stay sharp side up. Zhao and Iwao battled viciously in the dojo. Zhao, tripped Iwao and as Iwao fell, he elbowed him in the stomach. Zhao then tried to stomp his face, but Iwao moved, and flipped up, kicking Zhao in the face. Zhao ran at Iwao, only to receive a powerful Tiger Storm into the stomach. Zhao Sun Ming fell to the ground, and his neck landed on the sword. He died.

Chang: FATHER!!! What have you done Iwao!!!

Chang ran at Iwao with his sword drawn. Iwao did a Shadow Step behind him and struck the back of his neck, knocking him out.

Iwao left the house, and little Chang Long lay there next to his dead father.

The following weeks were rough on Chang, and he eventually joined a gang. It was the only way he could support himself. He lived with the gang, staying with his good friend Zhu Yuan Dha. As Chang grew, he renamed himself Lan Di. He learned a powerful form of martial art from Zhu that had disappeared long ago. Lan Di wanted to inflict his vengeance with the powerful Martial Art. He wanted Iwao to die. 10 years after his fathers death, Lan Di's friend Zhu Yuan Dha mysteriously disappeared, but Lan Di had become very powerful in the underworld being in the gang. Over the years he became a ruthless man, killing all who dare go against his word.

Slowly his original friends dwindled at his hand. He killed all of them with no mercy. Lan Di started a corporation that originally was an offbranch of the Chinese Mafia. He called this organization the Chi You Men. The group eventually became strong enough to lead over the Mafia.

Even after he established his organization and became powerful, Lan Di never forgot his true goal, to destroy Iwao Hazuki.

Man in Black 1: Lan Di Sama, we recently received word of the mirrors, and we know one of their locations.

Lan Di's voice had become cold, and he was searching for 2 mystical mirrors. Lan Di had become pure evil, and not only did he want Iwao dead, but he wanted the entire world to bow at his feet. He was searching for the Dragon and Pheonix Mirrors. These Mirrors had the power to resurrect Chi You, a legendary beast which Lan Di believed he could control.

Lan Di: Where are they?

Man in Black 2: We know of the location of the Dragon...and I think you will be pleased with where it is.

Lan Di: WHERE!?!?

Man in Black 1: Yes Sir, it is with Iwao Hazuki.

Lan Di (thinking): Good, now I can kill 2 birds with one stone. I'm coming Iwao, and I will have revenge!

Lan Di: Where is he?

Man in Black 2: He has taken permanent residency in Yokosuka, Japan.

Lan Di: Good, ready the jet, I wish to leave right away.

Lan Di entered the jet and a few hours later arrived in Japan. An onimous black car awaited him. 2 of his men rode with him to Iwao's home.

An old woman saw the car, and was struck down by one of Lan Di's men. A smirk appeared on Lan Di's face as he walked to the Dojo. Lan Di entered the Dojo, and there stood Iwao Hazuki, however, he was not surprised, for he knew that a day would come in which he would be punished for his crime in Meng Cun.

Lan Di: Iwao...

Lan Di: Who is this Iwao? (Lan Di looks over to Fuku San)

Iwao: Who are you?

Lan Di walks over to Fuku-San and tosses him to his men.

Lan Di: I want the mirror Iwao...

Iwao: What!? How do you know about the Mirror!?!?

Lan Di: Do not ask questions Iwao, just give me the mirror, or I will kill you.

Iwao: Why do you want it!?!?

Fuku San: Hazuki Sensei!!!

The men in black throw Fuku San out of the dojo through the doors. A few moments pass, and a young man runs into the room. The men in black grab him.

Lan Di: For the last time, where...is...the mirror!?!

Ryo: Father!!

Iwao: Stay back, Ryo!

Lan Di darted at Iwao quickly.

Iwao: Hmm!?

The two began fighting, but Iwao stood no chance against Lan Di's superior ability, and could not strike him. Lan Di quickly spins and delivers a kick to Iwao's face, sending him crashing down to the ground.

Ryo: Father!! (Ryo runs up to Lan Di.) Why you!!!

Lan Di slams Ryo in the stomach with a powerful open hand punch to his stomach. Ryo flies to the ground coughing. Lan Di suddenly gets an idea. He looks over to Ryo. Using enormous strength, Lan Di grabs Ryo by the neck and picks him up into the air.

Lan Di: Tell me where the mirror is...or else...your son!?

Iwao: Wait!

Iwao tells Lan Di where the mirror is, and Lan Di sends his men out to get it.

Lan Di: Do you remember Zhao Sun Ming?

Iwao: What!? Zhao!?!?

Lan Di: That's the name of the man you killed in Meng Cun.

Iwao: YOU!?!? Chang? (Note: I am going to add a few new things into the story.)

Lan Di: That's right Iwao, the time has come for me to avenge my father! Now get up! I will allow you to die like a warrior!

Iwao get's up and throws a punch at Lan Di, but he is nowhere near fast enough, and is struck in the heart with a powerful attack from Lan Di.

Man in Black 1: Lan Di-Sama, we have it.

Lan Di grabs the mirror, and smiles. He and his men walk out of the dojo, and Iwao dies. Ryo cuddles up to his father, and as Lan Di walks away he hears the cries of a Pheonix, and stops, stunned. He looks to the mirror.

Lan Di(thinking): Hm!? It doesn't mean anything! It can't! He couldn't be the Phe...no, I'm hearing things.

Lan Di walks to the car holding the mirror, and gets in.

Lan Di: Take me to the harbor, I must consult Terry and Chai, I need someone to take care of the boy!
